Say hi to our latest guinea pig foster from Dakin Humane:
Madea.
We've had her for about a week. Madea loves the cage - she checked it all out in the first day. She's great at doing laps in the evening so enthusiastically that the cage shakes. She's a cutie!
Madea ate nothing but carrots the first day she was here. I offered all sorts of veggies but she wouldn't try any of them. It even took a day or two to start digging into the hay and pellets.
A week later and she continues to eat the hay and pellets, but still refuses any kind of veggie other than carrots. Such stubbornness!
She is so good at being handled, which surprised me a little. She had been abandoned, and as a foster mom I never know what kind of attitude I'll get. Madea is strong and opinionated but has a gentle personality. I even managed to clip her nails by myself without a lot of wriggling.
Dakin asked for updates to post on her adoption listing as well as some photos. I figured she'd look summery with some flowers. What do you think?
I always enjoy following your guinea pig fosterings - lucky Madea!
ReplyDeleteShe looks pretty cute! It's so interesting that she won't eat any of the veggies you offer besides the carrots. Maybe they are her comfort food?!
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable! You're taking such great care of her. I would personally get sick of eating carrots all the time. Hope she tries something new!
ReplyDeleteMadea is a cutie. Seems like she likes being suttounded by pretty flowers. What other veggies do most guinea pigs like? Lettuce, cucumbers, broccoli?
ReplyDeleteOh for Pete’s sake….’surrounded’
