Junk Basket

Now that I have a nice new table runner on my end table, I needed to keep my junk from spreading all over it.  I saw this cute little fabric basket some months ago.  Perfect for containing my hand stitching supplies next to the couch.  Woo hoo!  A sewing project to try out and something useful at the end.  Love that.

I dug through my scrap 2" squares twice before I found a combination I liked.  But once I picked my squares, I whipped up the whole basket after dinner one night.  It was a quick, easy project and I'm pleased with the result.

It's so little, having handles on it seem silly.  But I love how it looks. I may have to make more of these little baskets (although I don't know what I'd do with them).

This one looks great on the table!

  1. I think that if a I started making these to contain my clutter, I might not stop and the baskets would become the clutter. Very cute! It's a nice way to corral your hand stitching supplies.

  2. I love the fabric basket with the handles. I think it's a nice addition to any home--scratch free too-- a lot of other types of materials tend to scratch tables, countertops, etc. I also think they'd make nice gifts--for showers, birthdays, etc. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Very cute Sally - you could make a sweet little basket for every room! LOL - just read Joanne's comment about making too many.

  4. Oh so cute, how big is it? Looks perfect for some threads and needles and a small project. I wonder if it might just fit Cannoli or Boadicea too, LOL!!
