Where did June go?
Well, it wasn't spent quilting. This quilt hated the ideas I came up with it. I actually started stitching two different free-motion designs and ripped them out. I didn't make any progress until I switched to my walking foot. Now I remember why I hate stitching in the ditch (loved the walking foot, though). But it was progress! It was enough to get the ball rolling.
Garden has been doing great. The butterfly weed has just started blooming. The mallow and lilies are in full bloom. And then there's one little confused iris that bloomed last week - a good month-and-a-half after all the rest of them.
The voles have been doing their darndest to harvest all my marigolds even before they budded. Having gotten bored with that, they've recently started in on the lilies. Oddly enough they snip them, then leave them toppled over in the garden. I'd be annoyed, except I've been enjoying the cut flowers in the house.
The weeds have been loving this hot weather (ugh!) and I'm hoping for some cooler weather to get them back under control. Ha.
I'm tired of being cooped in with the hot weather... but I finally finished quilting the quilt!
I'm not a fan of stitching in the ditch either, but sometimes it's the best way to get the job done! Looking forward to seeing your finish. Your flowers are so pretty! I've been fighting with the bunnies here - but it's the same thing. They've eaten every marigold and zinnia I've planted, usually before it gets more than an inch tall!
