Design Walls Are Taking Shape

I don't quite have enough batting on my design walls to completely lay out what I'm working on.  It's kind of a jumble.

Case in point - there's only enough room to put up half of the lone star.  But it's enough to get a feel for what it will look like.  I'll use up all my remaining grey and black triangles (converted to diamonds) and will actually have to cut some additional diamonds.  At this point I'm debating how big to make it and how to finish off the star.  Wall hanging or throw quilt?  We'll see...

The other two layouts are plugging along.  I keep fiddling with how to fill in the points along the edge of the little star quilt.  I've also played with several borders - I haven't found anything that is interesting, yet won't pull away from the center of the quilt.

Having multiple projects lets me do a little, then stew over it while I'm working on the others.

The kaleidoscope squares will eventually be set in color.  Pastels?  Something bright?  I'm thinking multiple colors.  Ooh - that could whittle away my stash of quarters and eighths.  I'll have to see what grabs me when I get more squares up there.

  1. Ooh, that lonestar is going to be pretty with the red section contrasting with the black and gray! Fun to see what else you're doing with the leftovers, too. You can never have enough design wall space!
