Bye Madea!

We were out grocery shopping on Saturday morning when I got the text:  our foster guinea pig Madea had a potential adopter.  Could we come by that afternoon to drop her off?  Just like that, Madea is gone.

She really settled in over the last couple of weeks.  I hid carrot pieces around the cage that she she spent time finding.  She loved the cozy I put on the third level and would often spend entire afternoons chilling in the bag.  Turned out she enjoyed being cuddled, so I tried to include some lap-time in the evening.  But I could tell she was bored.  A companion should really help with that.

Madea never ate any fruit or vegetable other than carrots and the occasional corn husk (when she thought we weren't looking).  She managed to maintain her girlish figure!  We bought her vitamin C treats to make sure she was getting enough (guinea pig pellets have some, but usually I give my piggies some bell pepper to make sure they get enough).

I was told she was going to be a companion for a neutered boar that had also been adopted out of Dakin.  I'm so pleased - I'm sure it will be a good match and I am certain another guinea pig will be able to teach her to eat lettuce where I failed.  Have a good life, Madea!  We enjoyed your stay.

  1. Madea always sounded like a sweetie, in spite of being a picky eater! I wish her a good life with a new friend!
