Invisible Quilting

I've started my last round of quilting on the quilt.  Woot!

I wrapped up the stitching with the white thread.  Finished the last crosses on Wednesday and fixed any partial seams.  I hope I caught them all!  I'll have to give it another close inspection.

I cleaned out a ton of lint from the bobbin assembly, reset the tension, swapped out thread and tested a few sections.  Can you even see it?

That is the plan.  Of the two pictured here one is quilted the other is not.  The pieced kaleidoscope patterns were so interesting I didn't want to muddy the design with visible quilting.  The squares need to be quilted down - they're too big of a space to leave unquilted.  They'll puff out.  So I've picked a grey thread that is a very close shade to the blocks.  Quilting will be a little tricky since the stitching doesn't stand out.  I'll have to be careful not to pucker the fabric since the squares are the last sections to be quilted (and the fabric has shifted just a bit).

I made a quilt a few years ago that had lots of stitching on background but not the circles.  Every time it gets washed, the circles get a bit puffier.  That's not what I want to happen with this quilt!
