A bunch of guinea pigs came into Dakin last week. I had my eye on a couple of pairs and thought I had missed out on all of them. But it turns out one little piggy, Echo, was still available. Sadly, she had just lost her cagemate.
Echo is calm and curious. Took the car ride and the new surroundings in stride. Wheeks every so often and I've seen a popcorn or two.
She's an expert at hiding. Within hours she'd discovered the cozy on the third level, dragged the hay over to block the front of it and snuggled in.
See? There really is a piggy in there.
The third level on the cage is a prime spot to hang out. I've also seen Echo in the hammock and under the fleece ribbons. Unlike the last guinea pig we fostered (who ate only carrots), Echo likes her veggies: lettuce, some red pepper. Cilantro? a few nibbles, but not really her favorite.
She's pretty fond of corn husk, though.
I've been hanging bits and pieces of corn husk around the cage for her to find. They've been disappearing!
She's not the best at being held - tries to jump from my arms. Not good! We'll see if Echo can sit still for the camera - I plan on taking some nice fall photos to share on Dakin.
