I've spent the last week or so making stacks of 2, 3 and 4-inch squares as well as stitching together lots of crumbs from a year's worth of sewing projects. Much of that was from Winter Stars. I made a nice stack of crumb pieces simply from that quilt's fabric.
I also have a quite a stack of cut pieces from that quilt - there's a few diamond pieces and lots of background triangles. I stitched one block together before I realized I had enough pieces to make a wall hanging from the leftover pieces. I've been throwing the pieces on the wall to see what design I can come up with. I have three parameters: use up as much of the pre-cut fabric as possible, minimize the number of new cut pieces (I had kaleidoscope fabric laid out but not yet cut), and do not pull apart the finished block.
Should be interesting to see what the design wall looks like in a few days. What do you think?
