Winter finally arrived in force in January between the snow and the cold. I'm happy to see the snow (but I'm also happy to see a little daylight at 5pm). I've gotten out a few times for local skiing and snowshoeing. It's been lovely. I don't like dismal grey winters.
This year the snowblower (and Rob) has gotten a workout. Check out that plume!
We were impressed with the tracks that appeared the next morning. Someone waded through the 14" of snow. What really piqued our
curiosity was the big hole dug in the middle of the front yard.
What do you think made that?
Speaking of critters - check out this super-puffy goldfinch. He's seriously round. He parked himself there and ignored the chickadees trying to land.
Orion, our foster guinea pig from Dakin Humane, stayed with us about a month before he found a forever home. I think his personal ad did the trick! (Did you see his Valentines pics?) My sister was the one who discovered just how much he enjoyed hanging out on the couch. He was one chill guinea pig.
We attended the Small Works opening at Hope & Feathers. Wow, the place was packed. There were 90 pieces initially on display. A few had sold nearly immediately. Ours were still on the wall - it was exciting to see them there.
I loved how mine looked all framed up. My sister's watercolor looked great, too. So many different types of mediums - paint, prints, photos, ink, collages. One had teeth! Another was all brass and copper. Very cool.
Working on quilting my mystery quilt. I started with straight lines and a walking foot and hated how slow it was going. I moved to straight lines with FMQ, then curves and spirals. Not too sure about the curved lines - I may do better to stick with straight lines throughout. So I'm rethinking before I stitch any more...
I have two more quilts lined up to be sandwiched. Then there's some crumb panels I need to put together for my sister. And then a baby quilt to start planning. At least I seem to have fixed (for now) my bobbin issue with FMQ.
I can never catch up on my project list! LOL

Wow! That’s a huge plume of snow! Looks like a deer or somebody’s dog in your yard. Deep snow.
