Our bikes had been at the shop, too, getting much needed tune-ups. They replaced my tires and chain then cleaned the gears. We picked up the bikes on Thursday as well. When they told me I needed new tires, I opted to replace the nubby ones with road tires. It's like a new bike!
What to start with? A weekend of good weather and a quilt to finish. What did I do?
I went dancing.
You see, last weekend also happened to be the New England Folk Festival in Mansfield, MA. There's music and crafts and lots and lots of dancing. I spend the majority of my time contra and English country dancing. So much fun.
I often volunteer to help with setup: moving chairs, tables, building stages, hauling various equipment between two school buildings. But this year they couldn't set up until Friday. I took a half day off of work on Friday to help. Oof. Six hours of labor followed by a few hours of dancing. I am so impressed they got the festival ready to go in such a short time. I was so worn out by 7pm... but somehow perked up when the first dance started.
I have NEFFA photos and videos I plan on sharing, but haven't had the time to edit and organize. Soon, I hope. But in the meantime, I love Doug Plummer's super condensed version of NEFFA.
Now I have sewing, biking AND blogging all pulling at me. Never enough time!
sounds like a lot of fun
ReplyDeletestop it you're making me want to dance again! I can't tell you how much I liked seeing the woman in a wheelchair dance. What freedom and nice people to help her along. LeeAnna
