Lots going on, lots to like this month, not a lot to share.
We had a pretty sunset a few weeks ago - lots of blue and purple. There is a crescent moon hiding between the trees in there somewhere, too.
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, with good food and family love. It will be quiet this year - just my mom coming over. But I'll be grateful all the same - there's a lot of good in my life.
Starting my next big project. I cut a few pieces to test the block. Given all the pieces, I'm now thinking I want to cut most pieces a little large, which would allow trimming the stitched pieces together (which will help the final assembly). I spent an evening measuring and cutting templates. I hope to work on this over the weekend, in between doing my big cookie baking.
Cookies! This year's set will include Date Filled cookies (they look like pinwheels - we'll see if my modified recipe works) as well as Chai Snowballs, the popular White Chocolate Molasses cookies, those crazy Berger Cookies as well as caramels and stuffed figs. Whew!
I've been playing morsle - kind of like Wordle, but with Morse code. It's been fun - I can usually figure it out within 30wpm.
Bubbles and Blossom (the foster guinea pigs from Dakin) are due back next week - they have a new forever home! I need to take some holiday photos before they go back.
That's about it. Sharing with LeeAnna and friends at I Like Thursday.
That is definitely pretty sunset! Will you miss those piggies? They've been fun to watch from a distance. Hope you've had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving day, Sally!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your cookie baking. That's something I don't do. Haven't for years, since my daughter was young. We don't need the calories, soooo, I just don't do it. LOVE the squares. Such a bold appearance with the black, white and grays. Your quiet Thanksgiving sounds nice. We were 22 and I just find the noise and chaos over whelming and tiring. The number varies a bit year to year; but it's always a pretty big group. The family just keeps growing and growing. I am now a great great aunt to 2! That really makes me feel old.
