Another Solo Candy Making

I found myself making Easter candy by myself again this year.  I had figured last year's solo work was a fluke.  Maybe next year will be different?

I was a bit more ambitious and made more than last year, hoping that I'll be able to give it away in person (instead of shipping it).  I also tried a new recipe for cookie dough truffles.  I worked on the centers during the week so I wouldn't tackle too much at once on Saturday.

Along with the cookie dough truffles I made centers of peanut butter and three kinds of buttercreams:  peppermint, raspberry and orange.  I need to try maple next year.

Saturday I made the straw nests, ginger nut clusters.  I tempered dark chocolate first and dipped a bunch of stuff.  Rob caught me as I sampled the last of tempered chocolate.  There wasn't enough to dip with.  Honest!  After a walk I tempered milk chocolate and dipped the rest.

Rob was a huge help with the dipping.  I couldn't have done it without him.  It really is a two-person job.

Aren't they pretty?

I need to pack them up and parcel them out before I eat them all myself!

  1. Oh yum! You look like you were having a lot of fun, Sally! Who would ever have thought that we would all still be staying away from our people a whole year later? I bet your people will enjoy some care packages, though!

  4. Wow, Sally, they look delicious and so professional. But the best shot of all is you with the chocolate on your face!!!! We've all done it, but you are the only one to post it! Good for you!
