Thursday. The weeks have been flying by lately. Sharing some
of the good stuff with LeeAnna and friends at
I Like Thursday.

I made candy for Easter (as usual). I trimmed a bunch of the dipped
candies and it struck me that the pile of chocolate trimmings looks very
similar to the pile of fabric trimmings. It's important to get the
pieces (whether chocolate or fabric) just right! I got perfectly dipped
little paves (the squares) and mini nests.
Beautiful!
I returned to Roaring Brook Falls to climb up the rocks. This
rocky overhang and crevasse was pretty cool to explore.
Spent a weekend at the New England Folk Festival. My right
shoulder was (is) still bothering me, so I made up a button to go on my sore
shoulder to warn other dancers I wasn't quite as mobile as usual. Got
lots of comments (and many accommodating dancers). I had one little kid
that was very concerned that I had a button that said ouch. It was a
wonderful weekend!
My mother and I went to a quilt show this last weekend. So
many beautiful quilts! Meanwhile, my quilting progress has been
seriously slowed down by gardening and shoulder issues (it's ridiculous when
wielding a rotary cutter is painful). I've been cutting up the
kaleidoscope squares...
and assembling the mystery quilt. It will be a wall hanging (and the extra two blocks will become a pillow). I need to decide how to do boarders, just not as big as the original design. But that will be put on the back burner until I finish the king quilt.
Now if only the weeds in my garden would stop growing so fast! I think word's out that I'm nursing that shoulder. Hmmm....
I hope your shoulder heals quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh, your candy looks yummy - it makes a pretty picture! And such a beautiful spot to hike, too. I'm so sorry your shoulder is bothering you - hope you find some help for that. The mystery quilt design is fun to see - looks perfect for a wall-hanging!
ReplyDeleteso many times we've danced with a person with an injury who said each time, be careful with my right shoulder, the button is a good idea. The candy looks just perfect, great job
ReplyDeleteL.
Delicious looking candy and what a neat place to explore on a hike. How did you get this shoulder injury I wonder. So I can not do that, LOL. Yes to fast healing!
ReplyDeleteI hope your shoulder gets better quickly. Love all your photos. You have a lovely blog. Warm greetings from Montreal, Canada.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post
ReplyDeleteHope your shoulder improves quickly for you. Pretty nature pictures. The quilts are very pretty. Love that someone took time to arrange the stones!
