Oh, boy! A quick post before a busy weekend. First up - I have a flimsy for the lone star quilt. I pushed through the last few seams so I could start working on my Project Quilting quilt (due on Sunday!). I did pretty well with the points, but the middle does not lay flat - obviously something is wonky. I'm not confident it will hang straight on the wall. I'll have to take a better look at it next week.
My sister entered into a gallery show last year called Small Works. I thought that might be fun to participate in this year, but we both forgot about it until this week. Luckily there's still enough time to enter, but my sister and I need to hustle. Once I finish my Project Quilting project, I'll move onto this.
Meanwhile - we had a piggy photo shoot on yesterday. This is one of the goofy photos of Orion to share on the Dakin Humane adoption page. He's such a good boy!
Your lone star design looks amazing to me! I hope you figure out the center issue so that you can hang it. And good luck with the show entries, too. That sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteThe lone star came out great. I think once you quilt it, it will lay much flatter.
ReplyDeleteLone star looks great and quilting will help. Sometimes sewing just inside your current seam allowances towards the center will correct that poufy issue.....but it would require a bit of seam ripping on the center seam and it may not be worth it! A good steam press can help immensely, too! And finished.......well, that's better than perfect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute fellow! It's nice to see a new piggie portrait. And that show looks really interesting - do you have to go to Hamp to pick up the board to work with, and then again to drop off your finished piece for the show? I'd be tempted if it could all be done without having to beg rides. And I used to drive to Northampton at least 4 days/week!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your project for the show! Your newest piggy foster is adorable!
