The majority of our home is in boxes in the living room. (It's also the only room that still has art on the walls.) It's all we do. I miss sewing. I miss blogging. By next Thursday, though, we'll be on the other side of this move. I cannot wait (even knowing of all the stuff still to do on that end of things).
It's been nice getting good customer service when requesting information about moving, gas delivery, plumbers, radon mitigation, ordering a stove. I joked to the stove guy about how there's so many more area codes than when I was a kid. He said his childhood area code was 612. What? You grew up in Minnesota? I did too! Turns out he grew up the other side of Minneapolis from me. Small world!
On the way up to the vet on Friday, we were passed by a new beetle Herbie (the license plate even said HERBIE). Do you remember the Love Bug? I loved those movies as a kid. Evidently you can get decal kits to make a modern Herbie. Made me smile.
I like that we're now treating Mabel's foot on our own. Wasn't she cute in pink? She's back in purple, now, and we're learning how to wrap that foot. It's a team effort! (And she's doing better - I like that, too!)
Next weeks post will be from a new place (assuming we have the internet up and running)! In the meantime, there's beautiful flowers, entertaining pets and wonderful creativity over at Not Afraid of Color's I Like Thursday.
Yeh for Mabel improving!!! Moving is so hard! Keep your spirits up! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally! Oh, to know and to see the light at the end of the tunnel is fabulous. It IS a LOT of work to pack and move. No doubt about it . . . but as long as the end result is great, all of this will be just a little blimp in your life. And sweet Mabel - I'm glad she is doing better. She looks quite fetching in pink. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you are finally actually "on the move" lol
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it all--such a traumatic time for you...hugs, Julierose
I do not like moving but happy when it's done. I don't envy you right now . Hope all goes smoothly and you have internet next week! Have fun.

Good luck with the move! It's always so stressful! I hope the pigs move smoothly! And I loved the love bug when I was a kid! I remember watching the love bug movie on the tv in my grandma's den!
ReplyDeletemoving is harder than one might think. Good luck to you, may nothing be broken. What's the problem with her foot? Not that I don't like seeing her in pink socks but... doesn't she bite it off? Milo is not one to have anything different on him for any reason. LeeAnna
ReplyDeleteYes, it can be all very tiring but so worth it in the end and everything gets such a clean sweep in the bargain. But such a great feeling when all done.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy little Mabel is getting better.
Glad you're finding good helpers along the way as you work on the move! I love those "it's a small world" encounters - they always leave you with a good feeling. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteYay, you are in the homestretch! Actually, that is a pretty good word for it, as you are stretching from your old home to your new one :)
ReplyDeleteDean Jones was so cute. Cheers to an easy and joyful move for you!
ReplyDeletePoor Mabel looks like she had a bad bikini wax. Love her pink bandage though. So excited for your move and can't wait to see the new digs.
ReplyDeleteSally - hang in there. You've almost made it. I look forward to catching up with you when you reach your destination and have access to the Web!
