Walked in the woods on Sunday - found these huge acorns. There were so many of them. These two are more than an inch across and even taller. Never seen them so big - must be from all the rain we've been having!
Also on the walk I came across mushrooms that were the color of Cheetos. Crazy orange.
Game Day! A day spent with friends, good food and playing games. Nice enough to sit outside to play.
I liked this video I found last week: Australian sheepherder creates a heart as a tribute to his aunt.
Hopefully more interesting stuff next week. Linking up with Not Afraid of Color's I Like Thursday.
Such an amazing and beautiful tribute the farmer did for his aunt. I am wondering how he (and the sheep) did it.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right about the rain. Crabapple trees here are heavy with more fruit than I've seen in years.
ReplyDeleteThe heart is amazing. There must be munchies they are having.
Acorns are not usual here! Last fall I did see some one a trip to a place in the Black Hills of South Dakota! It’s where we go to see “ some” fall color. But their little caps were off! It was still interesting to me. Love the sheep herders video! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletebig acorns! I remember the years our oak in MD dropped hundreds of those in the yard, like walking on ball bearings. Game night... nice!
ReplyDeleteI saw that video and thought it amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love coming across acorns...they are mostly tiny here so big ones would be quite the treat to find. I've read that it is the depth of the cup on the acorn that distinguishes the different kind of oak trees so it would be interesting to sort yours.
You find neat things when you're out walking! I liked that video, too - wonder how he did that?!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally!! I just LOVE the sheepherder video. I saw that on the news and meant to include it - I'm so glad you did!!! Those acorns are HUGE. I have never seen fungus that color - Cheetos orange. Cool. I hope spending time with your friends is enough to keep the stress down in other areas of life. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteThe only acorns I have seen were really small. But I love spotting fungus. Isn't it weird when you are so busy that you don't seem to have much to share.
ReplyDeleteWe have some huge mushrooms on the edge of our lawn heading into the woods. I thought the rain was to blame too! I haven't noticed any large acorns yet. It's been quiet for me too!
