Quilt Show: Large Quilts

Saturday was a rainy blustery day - perfect for spending indoors at a quilt show.  Too many photos to stuff in one post, so today is the large quilts.

These quilts were presented over pews.  It was wonderful to see so many, but  bummer that I couldn't photograph better.  But look!  There's some really neat stuff.

This pair of bear and moose quilts caught my eye.  They were wonderfully pieced together and I loved the pine tree border.

I loved the colors on top one.  Of course, strings!  Hard to go wrong with a string quilt.

The color of the pink roses just popped on such a gloomy day.

There was a prolific quilter who had a number of quilts on display.  His piecing was wonderful and intricate.

This is another of his.  Paper pieced.  Dark greens and reds.  It was stunning.

(You can click on any of these to see a larger picture.)

I loved this quilt - so colorful and densely quilted.  I've seen this design before, but not in person.

And one last one.  Love these colors.  That brilliant blue border is so pretty.

Part Two will be wall hangings.

  1. What a lovely way to spend a day walking through a quilt show looking at all those beautiful quilts. Each and every one is a masterpiece. I rather like the applique rose one but the densely quilted, solid coloured, pieced beauty is stunning isn't it. The work and love that has gone into all these quilts is amazing!

  2. It's hard to choose a favorite - each one is beautiful! After attending a quilt show, I always want to make one of each and then end up making lots of things that are completely different from what I saw.

  3. I really like the layout of that string quilt. Filing away the idea for possible use in future. It's surprising how well the quilts show over the pews. What a delightful stroll it must have been!
