Fall has been pretty in the neighborhood. The leaves are starting to change in earnest. We always find fun things on our walk. The horn is suddenly sprouting a big flower.
And the gal is sporting a new dress for the season. She's stylin'
with that tie!
My sister and I attended the
Paradise City Arts fair. Yay! It had been canceled last year. So many pretty
things. I couldn't resist. I bought myself a pair of earrings (oh,
they'll be great for dancing... when we finally get back to that).
The little glass vase was one of the first things I saw... I was still
thinking of it when we finished the fair and I went back to see it. The
shape and the size was so appealing. I'm hoping it will be a good size
for little spring daffodils.
I also picked up this little purse. My sister bought a tiny one from this guy years ago, and it has worn really well. He's now made his mini bags a little bigger to fit smartphones. Perfect!
I eyeballed a few things I may purchase next time for the house.
We've had some nice weather. I got out kayaking last night - quick, before the sun set! I met the beaver I had been told about - and he slapped his tail at me! A large gaggle of geese were hanging out, probably resting for their trip south. I liked the quarter moon nestled among the clouds. I had the entire pond to myself.
Believe it or not, Miss Piggy is staying with us again (alas, no photos). She did not pass health inspection when we brought her back. However, her quarantine is over on Saturday and she already has a new home and a friend awaiting her when she returns to the shelter. Yay! She's actually been acting a bit more like a guinea pig this week, too. Progress.
Speaking of progress - I have the icy waters quilt top sewn together. I have backing fabric and the fabric I needed for the next quilt. I'll be working on those this weekend (I hope!).
Those are my likes for the week. I bet there's some lovely fall colors to like over at Not Afraid of Color's I Like Thursday.
It has been a long time since you danced, hasn't it? Those earrings are pretty and the vase is lovely. Such a nice shape. Pretty purse, too. Gosh, you live in a fun neighbourhood. How pleasant to have that sublime lake and sky to yourself.
ReplyDeleteThe earrings are gorgeous. The vase has a beautiful graceful shape. I can see charming bare branches in a vase like that. The photograph is calming, good capture. Your decorations make me smile.
ReplyDeleteFun finds at the craft show! I love the vase. Looking forward to seeing Icy Waters!
ReplyDeletePretty earrings, but the vase is a real winner. How awesome to get some time to kayak. Hope Miss Piggy likes her new home. Can't wait to see your icy waters.
ReplyDeleteHi so many lovely things to see and buy including pretty earrings, oh yes I remember the dancing. Hopefully soon you will be able to get back to it. How wonderful to get out in the kayak, I can imagine how peaceful it was to be on the water and having a view of the world from your seat.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Sally! Lovely earrings . . . oh, and to dance again soon?!! Wouldn't that be nice?? Your view when kayaking . . . it just oozes peaceful and calm and quiet. Happy Friday! I hope you get to work on your quilt this weekend. ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeletecraft shows... I miss those the most I think, since we hadn't danced since moving to colorado. The dances and roads are not conducive. love your purchases too
ReplyDeleteCraft fairs are a sure sign of things getting back to normal. Love your purchases! Our leaves are changing but sort of slowly. Hope you get to dance soon!!
