I Like Thursday: Lots to Do

It was a good week - lots to like.  We'll see if I can speed-write another blog post, though, because it's been a busy week as well.

Baked some more.  This mess is an upside-down cheesy biscuit bake (downsized for two).  That topping is bacon, maple syrup and brown sugar.  Decadent.  We had it for breakfast on Sunday.  Recipe is here.

The pattern I won from the last Project Quilting challenge arrived.  It's an interesting design.  I opened it up and it turns out to be a paper piece pattern.  I look forward to trying it out.

I finished this week's Project Quilting challenge with lots of time to spare.  Have you made quilted postcards before?  I've recently heard of these and decided to try making one.

I have lots of beautiful fabric!  And I'm off to buy some more this weekend - I'm hoping to score some more batik and inexpensive backing fabrics.  I have 2-3 quilts in the works.

I finished the ornament that I was working on (in pieces here).  Bracing it for baking was almost as much work as creating it in the first place!  I can't show the finished product yet but I will at least tell you what it is:  a Chinese dragon.  I am very pleased with how it turned out.

My sister and I finished playing Riven last night.  I'm trying to load out the next game so we can continue playing the series.  We've been having a blast playing.

I finished reading The Art of Racing in the Rain.  One of the I Like Thursday group recommended the movie - I decided to read the book instead.  A quick, easy read.  A good story - I enjoyed it.

And that's it for now.  Linking up with Not Afraid of Color's I Like Thursday.

  2. Your biscuit bake sounds yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe. Congratulations on your win from PQ, and I love your latest finish, too. I've never tried crazy quilting or making postcards, but I'm putting them both on my list! I liked The Art of Racing in the Rain, too, both the book and the movie.

  5. Lots of interesting things here. I got waylaid by following the link for that delicious breakfast dish. You can't go wrong with anything that has maple syrup and bacon in it. A real treat I'm thinking. You will do great with paper piecing that design and how nice to have fabric shopping on your to do list. Something I myself love. A dragon sounds interesting; you are so creative.

  6. For as busy as you say, you are certainly getting lots done. Perhaps your sewing is your busy.
No, I have not sewn a postcard - very small.
